About Me
Bedford Based

My name is Carrie-Anne Licchelli, a qualified primary teacher and a dyslexia and literacy specialist teacher. I have worked in education for over 20 years across both primary and lower secondary settings. My passion for literacy has been at the heart of my career, leading me to roles such as Primary Literacy Lead, KS2 Lead, Secondary Reading Lead and Academic Transition Lead. In these positions, I designed engaging, multi-sensory literacy programmes, supported staff through training and developed initiatives to ensure every learner could access the curriculum with confidence. During my time as Academic Transition Lead, I saw first-hand how many pupils moved into secondary school with significant gaps in their literacy — some needing to revisit foundational skills such as phonics before they could progress. Creating intensive reading and writing interventions and seeing pupils grow in skill and confidence, reinforced my determination to specialise further in literacy and dyslexia. I went on to qualify as a BDA-accredited Dyslexia Specialist Teacher, trained as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher and developed a Reading Recovery Programme for secondary schools, which I also delivered as staff training. These experiences gave me the tools to identify where pupils are struggling, tailor effective interventions and equip both learners and teachers with strategies for lasting progress. Today, I offer personalised tutoring and literacy support to pupils in both primary and secondary education, as well as training for schools to strengthen inclusive practice. My greatest passion remains the same: helping learners who feel stuck or left behind to discover their strengths, build confidence and thrive.
